Coleman Wins in One Quarter – Game Called Because of Storms

bluecat-1

Last year, Coleman and Miles played in 106 degree temperatures in Miles.  Friday night, the only thunderstorms in the area developed over Coleman.  The Bluecats had quickly posted 24 points in the first quarter Friday night against the Bulldogs before lightning struck within a few miles of the stadium.  The referee sent the teams to the locker rooms followed by bands, cheerleaders and fans leaving the field for protection from the storm.  Rain began falling and the thunder rolled.  The delay lasted well over one hour before a decision was made by school officials to call the game as lightning continued nearby.  Coleman’s 24-0 win will propel the Bluecats to a meeting with the Anson Tigers next Friday night in Anson at 7:30 pm.
