
In a six hour period, between 3:30 am and 9:30 am Wednesday morning, August 18, northern Coleman County recorded four to six inches of rain. According to rain estimates from the KOXE Xrad 3D Doppler radar, the heaviest rain fell around Lake Coleman, which is in far northern Coleman County, just west of Highway 283. Six inches of rain is showing at the lake and along the Coleman/Callahan county line. Four to five inches of rain fell near Burkett along Highway 206 in northeast Coleman County. Water was running over Highway 206 at County Road 182 near Burkett. The City of Coleman received 2 to 3 inches, northern Brown County 2 to 3 inches but lesser amounts under an inch in Brownwood and Early.
