Sparks from a welder is believed to have started a grass fire Thursday afternoon.  Multiple Brown County fire departments responded to the 2800 block of Temple Avenue in Brownwood.

According to Darrell Johnston, Brown County Emergency Management Coordinator, 29 acres burned as a result of a property owner welding on a fence project.  One home was threatened but no structures were damaged.  Responding units were Brownwood, Lake Brownwood Dam and Bridge, Bangs, Early and Texas A&M Forest Service.
