The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Brownwood District will continue the annual maintenance sealcoat project in Brown County on Friday, August 13, 2021.  The project will continue throughout the district over the next month.

TxDOT’s contractor, Brannon Paving Ltd., will begin Friday working on FM 1689 in Comanche County, from FM 589 to the Brown County Line and then into Brown County, from the Comanche County Line to
US 183 W. Saturday, crews will move to FM 1467, finishing up on Monday.

The work convoy will then move to US 67 in Brown County, from the divided section of highway east of the Delaware Creek to Meadow Glen in Early, then from the bottom to the top of Bangs Hill in Brownwood.  This work is anticipated to be completed on Tuesday.

Motorists should expect various lane closures and plan for possible delays in travel. On two lane roadways, a pilot car will guide traffic through the work zone.  Motorists are asked to use caution, avoid distractions and slow their speed.

Schedule of work is subject to change, weather permitting and other unforeseen delays.
