Leroy Vestor Stockard, III age 90, on Thursday, August 12, 2021 surrounded by his loving family passed to be with his Lord Jesus at his home in Abilene, Texas.
Services will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm at Northwest Church of Christ, 1141 N Willis in Abilene with Jackie Wallace officiating. Interment will follow at the Santa Anna Cemetery under the personal care of Henderson Funeral Home staff. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday from 1:00 pm until service time at Northwest Church of Christ.
Leroy was born to Leroy Vestor Stockard, Jr. and Opal Inez Mae Tomlinson Stockard on October 13, 1930 in Santa Anna, Texas. He was raised in Santa Anna where he attended school and graduated from Santa Anna High School in 1930. Leroy continued his education at University of Texas Arlington and served his country with the Texas National Guard.
On April 19, 1956 Leroy married his loving wife Doris Angeline Roy in Lubbock, Texas and they have celebrated sixty-five years of marriage. He has been a resident of Abilene since 1957 and a member of the Northwest Church of Christ. Leroy was a residential painter and served the Church of Christ as an ordained minister. He loved his Lord Jesus and was a volunteer at Rosepark for over 24 years.
