In the weekly update released Friday, August 6 – the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department received 184 positive COVID-19 test results. Of the 184 positives, 74 were PCR, and 110 were antigen. There are 17 people currently hospitalized in Brown County for COVID-19. One new death has been reported: a male resident of a nursing facility in his 60’s.

- People fully vaccinated – 11,270 (91 additional)
- Percentage of people 12+ fully vaccinated – 34.26%
30,883 is the estimated number of Brown County residents eligible for vaccination.
COVID-19 VACCINE APPOINTMENTS
The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department is offering COVID-19 vaccinations to all youth ages 12 years or older and adults age 18 years old or older. Vaccinations are available by appointment at the Health Department. Please call 325-646-0554 to schedule an appointment for a vaccine.
