Pete Ramsey- actually Henry Houston, named after both an uncle and grandad who went by Pete, born in Santa Anna, Texas to Jim and Inez Cameron Ramsey October 8, 1946, passed from this life August 3, 2021. He was one of 18 kids, having 4 half-brothers, 4 half-sisters, 6 brothers and 5 sisters. Pete graduated from Bangs High School in 1965 where he excelled in track and football. He then served our country in the Navy from 1967-1969.

Pete married Lynnette (Lynn) Garner September 25, 1971, and they were to celebrate their 50th anniversary next month. He worked as a welder and then 25 years at Superior Cable. He enjoyed supporting their two children Glynna and Cameron in all their activities, deer hunting in years past and everyone knows he was an avid fisherman all his life. Of course, he adored spending time with their seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Inez Ramsey, half-brothers Bud, James & Shorty Ramsey, half-sisters, Lena Mae Ohlhausen, Dorothy Hodges, and Edith Brinson, brothers, Dean, and Donnie Ramsey, sisters Joan Graves and Faye Hill.

Pete is survived by wife Lynnette (Lynn), daughter Glynna Penney, husband Tim of Mabank, Tx, son Cameron Ramsey, wife Christina of Ballinger and grandchildren, Hunter and Kolt Bunch, Caleb, Joshua, and Sarah Penney, and Rossi and Evan Ramsey, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Pete’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Bangs Football Stadium. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, Davis-Morris Chapel.
