Alvin Lee Anderson was born July 7, 1935 in Waco, TX to mother Rachel Price who passed away 1 month after Alvin was born. Alvin and his brother James Henry were legally adopted by Rachel’s sister Fannie Price-Anderson and husband Virgil Anderson. Alvin left school in the 9th grade to join the military. He served this country in the US Army and the US Air Force leaving with an honorable discharge. After leaving the military, Alvin took his 9th grade education, earned his GED, and proceeded to attend school at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX where he earned a Bachelors degree. He then went on to Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX where he earned his Masters degree in Administration. Alvin was a well rounded musician that played several instruments including drums, saxophone, organ, piano, bass guitar, and harmonica. Music has always been his passion and universal language as he taught music and voice to so many from elementary school to college, as well as churches all over Texas/New Mexico. As a Minister of Music, Alvin dedicated his life to serving the saints of God by sharing his musical gifts with anyone that wanted to learn. He was also a great vocalist that had the power and anointing of God blessing so many lives with his gift of singing. Alvin is responsible for assembling some of the greatest choirs ever heard. He was a perfectionist and a vocal trainer that could hear tones/notes so clearly. Alvin was promoted as an administrator and was a Principal in public elementary schools, as well as, for Texas Youth Commission. Even though he was well known as “Ooh Mr. Anderson don’t play” and all…He was a proud, classy, clean-cut gentleman that always wanted for all to do what’s right and make something out of themselves. A Father and a Teacher to many who at the end of the day meant well and really loved hard.
