Awards Given at Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet

A large crowd filled the floor of the Brownwood Coliseum Thursday night for the annual Brownwood Chamber of Commerce Banquet. Numerous awards were presented including three recipients of the Stuart Coleman Good Neighbor Award.  Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes read the bios for each of the following award winners.

Ambassador of the Year – Vikki Firth

Stuart Coleman Good Neighbor Award – Tara Newton, Carol Jarvis Deal and Travis Curry.

Small Business of the Year – Intermission Bookshop

Medium Business of the Year – Hill Country Home Care

Large Business of the Year – Performance Pipe

Community Partner of the Year – Howard Payne University

Professional of the Year – Sunni Modawell

Volunteer of the Year – Lindy Mason

Woman of the Year – Nancy King

Man of the Year – Larry Mathis

Groner Pitts Lifetime of Service Award – Dale Wheelis

There was a surprise introduction of the newly appointed Executive Director of the Chamber, Nathan Smith.  We will share more about him in a separate story Friday.  It was noted that even with COVID affecting all size businesses last year into this year, the Chamber continued to find ways to support and promote area businesses.  Membership has grown to a total of 575 members.
