Dannie Wade Turner, 70, of Fort Stockton

Dannie Wade Turner, age 70, of Fort Stockton, died June 8, 2021, at his residence.

A graveside funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at the Mt. View Cemetery Pavilion.  Interment will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

Dannie was born May 20, 1951, in Sweetwater to Wayne Turner and Ruby Craig Turner.  He grew up in Goldsmith and graduated from Menard High School in 1969.  Dannie then attended Midland Jr. College and Angelo State University.  Dannie proudly served his country by joining the United States Air Force.  After receiving an honorable discharge, he began working for Dexter Certified Security.  Dannie worked as a security guard with multiple banks.  Dannie then started his career with the United States Postal service where he was a mail carrier for over 25 years.

Dannie was a free spirit and enjoyed life to the fullest.  His favorite passion was bowling.  Dannie competed in many national bowling tournaments in Reno, Nevada.  He also enjoyed all sporting events and was an avid Texas Longhorn fan.  Dannie will be missed by all who knew him.

Dannie is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Ruby Turner and one brother, Eddie Turner.

He is survived by one brother, Larry Turner of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi; his ex-wife, Tonya Turner of Austin; and multiple nieces and nephews.
