Jerry passed from this life on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, in an Abilene hospital.
Jerry Dee Biehl was born on February 24, 1944, in Big Spring to Elmer and Ruby (Bludworth) Biehl. He graduated from Coleman High School in 1962. Jerry married Sandra Joy McCormick on June 15, 1963 in Burkett. He began his working career with 3M Company in 1965 and retired after 32 years in 1997.
Jerry was a member of the Austin Avenue Church of Christ where he served as a deacon, an elder, and loved to lead singing. He also served as the director of the Golden Ager Camp for six years and as co-director of Lake Cisco Christian Camp. Jerry served his community on the Early ISD School Board and as president of the Thunderbird Bay Homeowners Association.
Jerry’s ultimate goal was Heaven, so he lived a life dedicated to serving God. He also served others and helped anyone in need. Jerry and Sandra opened their homes on numerous occasions taking on family, friends, and foster children. His family brought him tremendous joy. His 58-year marriage to Sandra, his three children and his six grandchildren were his greatest blessings and legacy. Nothing made him happier than time spent with them, and when they were all together, there was never a dull moment. Pranks and jokes were more common than not. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening, and sitting on the porch drinking coffee with his bride. Jerry was an animal lover, who loved everyone, and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He was a master of dad jokes and pranks and ALWAYS had a huge smile to share.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Sandra of May, a daughter, Renea Worley and husband Joey of Fairfield; two sons, Greg Biehl and wife Carla of Clyde and Chris Biehl and wife Keri of Goldthwaite; six grandchildren, Jarred Biehl, Hannah Worley, Haylee Worley, Jace Biehl, Jaden Biehl and Jalyn Biehl.
Jerry was preceded in death by a grandson, Jarred Dee Biehl, his parents, Elmer and Ruby Biehl, two brothers, David Biehl and Roy Don Biehl.
The family requests memorials be made to Cherokee Home for Children, Christian Homes of Abilene, the Burkett Cemetery Association or give to a person in need.
