Five Sentenced in District Court

According to District Attorney, Micheal Murray, several felony cases were recently heard in Brown/Mills County District Court, Judge Mike Smith, presiding.

Colby Ray Owings, on probation for the felony offenses of Burglary of a Habitation and Arson was revoked and sentenced to Eight (8) years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division. Owings, on probation for the state jail felony offenses of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unauthorized Use of Vehicle were revoked and sentenced to Two (2) years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.

Charles Art Bishop, pled guilty to the felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance-Drug Free Zone and was sentenced to Five (5) years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division. Bishop, pled guilty to the state jail felony offense of Burglary of a Building and was sentenced to Six (6) months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division. Further, Bishop, on probation for the state jail felony offenses of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Endangering a Child was revoked and sentenced to Six (6) months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.

Bethany Ketchum, on probation for the felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance was revoked and sentenced to Two (2) years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.

Margarita Lara, on probation for the felony offense of Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon was adjudicated and sentenced to Two (2) years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.

David Lynn Seward, on probation for the state jail felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance was revoked and sentenced to Eighteen (18) months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
