We celebrate the life of Rickey “Rick” Dale Adams. He was a man that loved the cowboy life and all that came with it. Rick enjoyed a smooth horse and wild cow chases that would later be a story to be relived for all that would listen. The ranches he rode for knew he was riding for their brand and the cowboys that he rode with knew he would bust brush alongside of them.

Rick was a lifelong resident of Coleman County and was proud of the fact that he had only moved 2 miles from his family’s home place. He loved Webbville and the country living like hunting, fishing, ranching, and raising a family.

His legacy will be lived out by his children and grandchildren. Rick had a soft spot for his grandchildren. He whispered to each of them when they were born. No one knew exactly what he said but it was his way of welcoming them into the family.

Rick knew he not only had a wife in Hanna but a hunting partner, cattle hand, fence builder, fishing buddy, dance partner, and a lifelong friend. His devoted wife and best friend made sure that every last wish he had in life was fulfilled as she stood by his side until the very end… fulfilling their promises to one another.

He will be missed by his wife Hanna Stone Adams; children Doug Adams and wife Candys, Brandi Adams-Johnson, Cierra Odom-Schulze and husband Josh; Grandchildren Zeke Adams, Mahala & husband, Erik Edstrom, Amanda Blair, Kanon Johnson, Triniti Johnson, Toriana Johnson, Mattie Schulze, Alivia Schulze, Taylor Schulze, Haigen Hemphill, and JZ Hemphill along with many great grandchildren.

Brother Bruce Adams and wife Ginger, niece Brittany Adams-Lowe and husband Guy Lowe. Incredibly special friend Kenneth Thate and wife Pam along with the countless friends and cowboys.

Preceding Rick in death are his parents BW Adams and mother Billie Blackwell Adams; son-in-law, James Johnson; and sister-in-law, Betty Adams.

Pallbearers will be Terry Fortune, Kelly Connally, Clay Koening, Chris Connelly, Jim Hargett, and Jonathan Fleming.  Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Thate, Rod Middleton, and Bill Webb.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Rick to the Burkett Adams Cemetery Association or to the Burkett Volunteer Fire Department.
