Jo Ann Owen, age 81, long-time Coleman resident, died Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the Rising Star Nursing Center.

Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. until noon on Friday, April 23, at Stevens Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve King, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating.  Interment will follow in the Coleman Cemetery.  Services have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Jo Ann Crabb on April 19, 1940 in Coleman, a daughter of Joe R. Crabb and Lucille Barker Crabb.  She grew up in Coleman where she attended school and graduated in the Class of 1959.  She was married to Othar B. (O. B.) Owen in 1982 and he preceded her in death in 1990.   Jo Ann worked for home health and Owl Drug Store in the fountain.  She was also the long-time caretaker for her mother. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, Joyce Cates, Jenny Franklin, Kay Dean, Deborah Crum, Jim Huey, David Crabb, Brent Crabb and Joel Crabb; several great nieces and great nephews; one sister-in-law, Barbara Crabb of Eastland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers, James Huey and James Crabb; sister, Maxcine Tarver; nephew, Steve Tarver.
