The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for Brown, Coleman, Mills, Comanche, McCulloch, San Saba, Lampasas and Hamilton counties in the KOXE listening area.

The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning for Eastland, Callahan and Taylor counties in the KOXE listening area.

The advisories will be in effect from 3:00 am Wednesday, April 21, to 9:00 am Wednesday.

Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered. Take steps today to protect tender plants from the cold.

From KOXE Meteorologist Randy Turner – As of 4:45 am Tuesday, a strong cold front was moving through the South Plains of Texas, with Lubbock showing a northeast wind of 30 mph.  The front should arrive in the Brownwood area as soon as 9:00 am this morning.  Expect 20 to 30 mph north wind today with highs this afternoon 50-53 degrees.  Wind chills will be in the 30’s and 40’s today.
