The Brown County Sheriff’s Department responded to numerous calls for service between Monday, April 12 and Wednesday, April 14. Calls range from illegal dumping to theft, harassment and fraud.
On Monday, April 12 at approximately 11:10 a.m., Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched N Hwy 279. This was in reference to a burglary of a vehicle report and investigation.
On Monday, April 12, at approximately 2:30 p.m. Deputy Scotty Burke met with the complainant at the LEC. This was in reference to a fraud report and investigation.
On Monday, April 12 at 8:44 p.m. Deputy Carlyle James Gover responded to County Road 159. This was in reference to a burglary. The back door appeared to have been forced open; however, the property owner did not observe anything missing from the property. After further investigation a report was made.
On Tuesday, April 13, an illegal dumping was located. A report was made.
On Tuesday, April 13, at approximately 8:08 a.m. SO units were dispatched to an address in Blanket. This was in reference to a harassment report and investigation.
On Tuesday, April 13 at approximately 12:25 p.m., Deputy Scotty Burke met with the complainant at CR 323, Zephyr. This was in reference to a theft report and investigation.
On Tuesday, April 13 at about 2:59 p.m. Deputy Byron Langley, spoke, by phone, with a victim who stated a suspect threatened to beat her up next time she saw her. The victim stated the suspect also told her she had pictures of her in a tanning bed, which she was going to send to the victim’s husband.
On Tuesday, April 13, a 30-Day Notice to Abate and two written warnings were issued at 4901 CR 292. A report was made.
On Tuesday, April 13 at approximately 3:42, Deputy Scotty Burke was contacted by the complainant, by phone. This was in reference to a missing person report and investigation.
On Tuesday, April 13 at 2:03 p.m., Deputy Carlyle James Gover was informed of a fraud, which occurred in the county. After speaking to the complainant, a report was made for Fraud to Obtain Unemployment Benefits.
On Tuesday, April 13 at 6:07 p.m., Deputy Carlyle James Gover arrived to CR 546. This was in reference to a trespassed person being on the property and causing a disturbance. However; the trespassed person had fled the scene before deputies arrived. A report was made.
On Wednesday, April 14, at about 8:40 a.m., Deputy Marvin Simpson stopped out with an abandoned vehicle at US 84/183. The vehicle, a white Volkswagen, had been abandoned since April 9, 2021. Deputy Simpson had previously red tagged the vehicle on April 10, 2021. Welch Brothers’ Towing was contacted. A report was made.
On Wednesday, April 14 at approximately 11:33 a.m. Deputy Andre Smoot with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, was dispatched to County Road 546. This was regarding a criminal trespass.
On Wednesday, April 14 at approximately 12:15 p.m., the complainant requested a trespass warning be issued to a known suspect for an address in the 7100 block of Neal Drive. Deputies had previously arrested the known suspect, and he was issued the trespass warning at the jail.
On Wednesday, April 14 at approximately 5:20 p.m. Deputy Nicolas A. Wood, was notified of a Credit Card or Debit Card Abuse Elderly offense. Wood made contact with the victim at her residence and gathered all relevant information. A report was made.
