At Shotwell Stadium in Abilene on Friday, the Lady Lions scored early and often in route to a 10-0 victory over the Snyder Lady Tigers.
The District 4 second-seeded Lady Lions (11-4) needed just 16 seconds to score the only goal they needed against District 3 third-seed Snyder (4-15), as Molly Oliver found the net with an assist from Tessa Goodwin for a quick 1-0 lead. Watts Jones added the second goal just 5:24 into the contest, which became a recurring theme throughout the contest.
Next up for the Lady Lions is District 1 champion San Elizario (14-1) – coming off a 13-1 bi-district win over Borger – in the second round at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Midland’s Grande Communications Stadium.
