Gayle Lamond Doyal, age 83, of Brady, Texas passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at his residence.

Gayle was born October 5, 1937 in Brady, Texas to Green Leaf Doyal and Ethel (Hill) Doyal.  He was 1956 Lohn High School graduate.  He was an outstanding athlete and even though Lohn played 6 man football, he was awarded a scholarship to play 11 man football in college.  He married Shirley Irene Hemphill on May 3, 1955 in Brownwood, Texas.  He was a lifelong farmer in the Lohn Valley and very active in his community.  He served on the Lohn Independent School District school board, Lohn Co-op Gin Board, Farm Bureau Director and a Boy Scout Leader.  He was a member of the Lohn Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon.  He was a very involved father and grandfather and enjoyed any activity that involved his family.  He loved fishing, especially Bass fishing.  He was a founding member of the Brady Creek Bass Club. He lived in the Lohn community most of his life before moving to Brady a few years ago.

A memorial service for Gayle Doyal will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady with Reverend Paden Behrens officiating.

Gayle Doyal’s cremated remains will be interred at the Lohn Cemetery at a later date.

The family will received friends Friday evening, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels.

Gayle Lamond Doyal is survived by his loving wife of almost 66 years, Shirley Doyal of Brady, TX; son Gary Doyal of Brady, TX; daughters Jo Anne Martin and husband Michael of Brady, TX and Janet Gloria of Brady, TX; brother Terry Doyal of Brownwood, TX; sister Jocele Schulze and husband Ray of Early, TX; 8 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildlren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bobby Doyal and sister-in-law Latricia Doyal.  Memorial contributions in memory of Gayle Lamond Doyal may be made to Hope from the Heart, P.
