E.J. Lemons, 87, of Brownwood

E.J. Lemons, age 87, of Brownwood passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021, at a nursing home facility in San Angelo.

Funeral Services for E.J. will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Brian Hall officiating.  Burial with Military Honors will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

E.J. was born to John Marion and Mary Harlow (Kiser) Lemons on December 5, 1933, in Brady, Texas. He graduated from Brady High School in 1952. E.J. joined the United States Army and served in the Korean War; he served from 1955 to 1962.

E.J. married Barbara Fikes on June 4, 1960, in San Angelo. He worked in finance for a number of years. He then went on to work for MHMR, now known as Center for Life Resources, as a Caregiver for several years before retiring. E.J. loved hunting, keeping his lawn mowed, and his coffee.

E.J. is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Lemons of Brownwood; children: Shirley Blevins of Brownwood, Christy Jackson of Brownwood, Bobbie Crelia and husband Joe of San Angelo, Misty Jackson and husband John NeSmith of Brownwood, Adam Jackson and wife Theresa of San Angelo; 10 grandchildren: Aaron Smith and wife Makayla, William Smith and Kassi, Raymond NeSmith and Madison, Jeremy Brown and wife Tori, Destiny NeSmith, Kelsey Brown and Robin all of Brownwood, Patrishia Jackson of San Angelo, and Tommy Jackson of San Angelo; 8 great-grandchildren; and many others considered children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Lemons; grandson, Gaiden Crelia; parents, John and Mary Lemons; brother, W.E. Lemons; son-in-law, Ralph Blevins; and brother-in-law, Gene Fikes.
