David Earl Deans, age 89, of Voca, Texas passed away Monday, March 8, 2021 at his residence.
David was born March 17, 1931 in Brownwood, Texas to Byron Earl Deans and Beryl (McKee) Deans. Growing up he attended school in Brady, but graduated from Central High School in San Angelo in 1948. After graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was stationed in Germany. He attended San Angelo Community College where he studied accounting. He married Annette Young on September 12, 1959 in Brady, Texas. They moved from San Angelo, back to Brady in the early 70’s where they owned and operated Deans Motor Company for more than 15 years. He retired in 1990 and spent his time farming and ranching until 2005 when they moved to their farm permanently. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Brady. Big Dave, as his grandchildren lovingly called him, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and especially taking his boat, the “KingFish”, deep sea fishing along the Coast of Texas.
Graveside services with military honors for David Earl Deans will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at the Voca Cemetery in Voca with Reverend Stacey Evans officiating.

David is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Annette Deans of Voca, TX; his daughters, Diana McCabe and husband Mike; Judi Hambright and husband Jade all of San Angelo, TX; grandsons Dr. Jake McCabe and wife Cassey, great-granddaughters Leddy Ann & Lainey Jane McCabe of Christoval and Cody McCabe of San Angelo. Holt Hambright of San Antonio, Harrison Hambright of Dallas and Sealy Hambright of Vail, CO.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents W.M. & Winnie Deans, parents Earl & Beryl Deans and brother Mack Deans.
