Brownwood Man Arrested After Fleeing from Police

On Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at approximately 7 p.m. Officer Roberto Rodriguez observed a person he believed to have a warrant for his arrest. In the 1400 block of 6th Street. Officer Rodriguez made a consensual contact with the male and confirmed his identity as Cody Ray Vuittonet,31, of Brownwood. Officer Rodriguez spoke with Vuittonet about the warrant for his arrest and Vuittonet fled the scene northbound, according to the police report.

Officer Rodriguez radioed for assistance and ran after Vuittonet across Coggin Avenue onto 7th Street and then to Avenue D where he observed Vuittonet run inside a residence. Officer Rodriguez identified himself at the residence and was given access where he located Vuittonet hiding inside a front bedroom. Vuittonet was arrested for the warrant which was out of 35th District Court for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1. Vuittonet was also charged with Evading Arrest w/Previous Convictions.

According to Brown County Jail online records, bonds total $20,000 ($10,000 for Evading Arrest Detention with Previous Conviction and $10,000 for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1).  Vuittonet was released from jail on March 10, records indicate.
