A man from Anson died in a car wreck Monday evening in Jones County.

According to a report from the Department of Public Safety, the wreck happened at 7:25 pm Monday, March 8, approximately 8.5 miles north of Anson on U.S. Highway 277.

A 2008 Buick Lacrosse, driven by Stanley Leon Kirby, 88 of Anson, was traveling south on US 277 when the car veered off the right side of the road, went into a field and rolled over multiple times.   Mr. Kirby was wearing a seat belt.  The body was taken to Anson Funeral Home.  The crash is under investigation.
