During a meeting of Brown County Commissioners Monday morning, March 1, County Judge, Dr. Paul Lilly, presented plaques of appreciation to two couples who helped community members during the recent winter storm.
Kris and Nicole Sparks of Sparks Insurance in Early offered pallets of free firewood for those in need. Kris accepted the award.
Bridget and Jonathan Jones (shown above with Judge Lilly), owners of Chick-fil-A in Brownwood, gave away hundreds of free chicken sandwiches in the Coggin Avenue Baptist Church parking lot to assist local residents who had lost electricity during the winter storm.
