In a statement from the Brownwood TxDOT Office on Monday afternoon:  TxDOT continues to discourage travel at this time. The sun is shining and may give a little false security to drivers.  Crews are removing snow and ice from roadways across the Brownwood District (and across the state for that matter); however, any moisture that remains will refreeze given the current temperatures.  This will worsen after the sun goes down.  For this reason, we are still urging motorists to stay home if at all possible.
