Between 11:00 am and 12:00 noon Saturday, units from the Brownwood Fire Department and Lifeguard EMS were dispatched to a fire in the Green Oaks Mobile Home Park, located in the 3300 block of Stephen F. Austin.

As shown in the photo, the home sustained significant damage.   All residents inside escaped unharmed but two cats perished in the fire. The Red Cross was called to assist the family.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
