As of 3:00 pm Friday, multiple news outlets are reporting a man is now in custody in connection to the fire that destroyed the Mason County Courthouse and another home in Mason on Thursday night.  The Mason County News posted on their Facebook page a person of interest has been apprehended.  The Mason, Texas Facebook page shared “A quick update. It appears this fire was arson and the suspect is in custody. This individual is also suspected of starting another fire in Mason last night that destroyed a home.”  Austin TV station KXAN reported on their Facebook page “Authorities have a man in custody they believe started the fire that burned down the Mason County Courthouse.”
