Numerous Brown County Fire Departments responded to a grass fire Wednesday afternoon on FM 3100 near the Salt Creek Baptist Church.  According to fire dispatch radio calls, a home was also threatened for a time.  Flames also burned near the cemetery at Salt Creek Baptist Church.

At 3:20 p.m., all available water tanker and brush trucks from county fire departments were being summoned to the scene.  The number of acres burned was not available as of late Wednesday afternoon.
