Brenda Jane Perkins passed away at the age of 81 on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at her home in Early, Texas. Brenda was born on June 5, 1939 in Brownwood, Texas to Milton and Lennie (Bradford) Stuteville. She graduated from Brownwood High School in 1957.
Brenda was a member of the Early First Baptist Church. She worked for Southwestern States Telephone Company, Citizen’s Bank, the Brownwood Public Library and most recently was a volunteer with the BRMC Volunteer Organization in the Surgery Waiting Area within Brownwood Regional Medical Center. She loved to volunteer her time and looked forward to assisting and comforting those she served. Brenda began volunteering in January 2005 and she was named volunteer of the month in September 2019.
Brenda was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Larry Perkins; her parents, Milton and Lennie Stuteville; and her sister, Barbara McHorse.
Brenda is survived by her children, Terry Perkins and wife Brandi of Humble, and Kelli Gage and wife Cindy of Plano. She adored her grandchildren Addison Perkins, Bryson Perkins, Zachary Gage, Hailey Gage, Luke Dove, Addison, Brooklyn, Courtlyn and Jackson Herrera. She will also be remembered by her brother, Larry Stuteville and his wife Brenda of Abilene; her ex (but always) son-in-law, Bryan Gage; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Brenda was many things to many people, but she always had a smile on her face and was willing to help anyone at any time. She loved watching all sports, but her favorites were the University of Texas Longhorn football team, the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers and the San Antonio Spurs. If there was a game on, she was watching and if you knew Brenda at all you knew she was screaming at that television telling them what they were doing wrong. No matter what she did or who she was doing it for she always did it with all her whole heart. She will be missed greatly.
Graveside Services for Brenda will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Eastlawn Memorial Park with Joe Baucom officiating. There is no set visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood. Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Ladies Hospital Auxiliary (Brownwood Regional Volunteer Group, P.O. Box 874, Brownwood, Texas 76801).
