Roberto Rocha, age 74, of Santa Anna, died Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 17, at Cordero Baptist Church, 206 6th Street, Santa Anna, with Pastor Raul Lopez officiating. Burial will follow in the Santa Anna Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. To protect each other from CoVID19 infection, we ask that you comply with the CDC social distancing guidelines as well as Governor Greg Abbott’s request that a face covering be utilized.
Roberto Rocha was born March 21, 1946 in Nieves, Zacatecas, Mexico, a son of Jose Rocha and Maria Dolores Garcia Rocha. He grew up in Monterrey, Mexico, where he attended school. He also served in the Mexican Armed Forces. In 1969, he moved to Goldthwaite from Mexico where he lived for a few years. In September 1975 he married Maria Frausto in Santa Anna and she preceded him in death on November 21, 2019. Following their marriage, he lived in Santa Anna. He worked on ranches for Elton Jones and Robert Stewardson, and retired from Bledsoe Ford. He was a member of Cordero Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Rocha of Santa Anna; one son, Gustavo Nunez of El Paso; three grandchildren, Jennifer Castruita, Christian Castruita and Bryan Castruita; one great-grandchild, Hudson Castruita; seven brothers, Lazaro Rocha, Jose Armando Rocha, Moises Rocha, Lucio Rocha, Juan Rocha, Manuel Rocha, Miguel Rocha; two sisters, Maria Aurora Rocha and Elvira Rocha; numerous nieces and nephews.
