For the second time in 10 days, Brown and surrounding counties are under a beautiful blanket of snow. Through our social media contacts, we have seen snow reports of 3 to 5 inches being pretty common, so far. More snow is forecast to fall off and on throughout the day. At 10:00 am Sunday morning, KOXE’s Carl Wayne reports roads have become snow-covered again. “They were fairly clear earlier this morning around eight in Brownwood, but heavy heavy snow has built up on the roads and they are a little bit slick right now. Be extremely careful if you have to get out.”
From KOXE Meteorologist Randy Turner:
“The temperature at Brownwood Regional Airport has stayed at 32 degrees from 5:15 am to 10:25 am. It will likely stay between 31 and 33 through sundown. The temperature will quickly drop to upper 20’s by 8:00 pm freezing all the snow and slush on roads. I’m forecasting the temperature to rise back above freezing about 10-11 am Monday.”
