Brownwood Police made arrests in two separate incidents on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

According to the Brownwood Police Department, New Year’s Eve at about 7:30 pm officers responded to a Domestic Disturbance on Quail Creek Road.  Arrested was Alicia Kay Peeples, 41, of Blessing, Texas.  She was charged with two counts of assaulting a family member, resisting arrest and endangering a child.

New Year’s Day at approximately 12:20 am, Brownwood PD responded to the report of a large fight in the area of Beaver Street close to the old Gomez Restaurant.  The disturbance was located in the 700 block of West Commerce.  Arrested in this incident was Joel Jay Slayton, 29, of Brownwood.  According to police, he had a parole warrant for his arrest and was also charged with assault by touch and assault causing bodily injury.

Those charged are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
