Brown County Sheriff’s Report

The following calls for service were received recently by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.

On Tuesday, December 22, at about 11:33 hours, Lt. Pete Bastardo was dispatched to High Mesa in regards to theft. After speaking with the victim, it was discovered a burglary of building had occurred. A  report was taken with no suspects to list.

On Wednesday, December 23, at about 13:48 hours, Deputy Simpson took a phone call in regards to illegal dumping. The complainant stated trash was on both sides of the county road and is flying on to other people’s properties. Deputy Simpson went to County  Road 178 in Bangs to investigate the claim. A report was made for illegal dumping.

On December 23, at approximately 17:30 hours, deputies were performing a civil standby at County Road 234.   While at the residence, a Criminal Trespass Warning
was issued to a female. A report was made.

On December 24, Deputy Andre Smoot responded to an assault on County Road 344, Early, Texas. While on scene Deputy Smoot spoke to the victim only, due to suspect leaving the scene. He gathered pertinent information and completed a report for further
investigation.

On December 24, at approximately 17:27 hours, deputies responded to High Mesa Drive in reference to a machete left by an unknown person. While there, the complainant advised deputies where were items missing from the property and a damaged window screen. The missing items were inventoried and photographs were taken at the scene. A report was made.

On Saturday, December 26, at about 05:47 hours, Deputy Byron Langley arrived at Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood in regards to an assault. He spoke to the
victim who stated he was assaulted by a suspect after a verbal altercation.

On Saturday, December 26, at approximately 10:09, Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to Highway 183 North in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle
report and investigation.

On Saturday, December 26, at about 14:32 hours, Deputy Byron Langley arrived at Monaghan Drive in Brownwood in regards to a theft. He spoke to a victim who
stated someone took his 4 wheeler from his front yard.

On December 26, at approximately 17:17 hours, Deputy Nicolas A. Wood responded to a Burglary of a Habitation after the fact which had occurred at Donegal Drive in Brownwood.

On Sunday, December 27, at approximately 11:50 am, Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to Highway 183 North in reference to an assault and criminal mischief report and investigation.

On Sunday, December 27, at 16:36 hours, Corporal Jayson Bastardo was dispatched to County Road 619 in Blanket in regards to disorderly conduct. He spoke with a man who said a male subject was attempting to take his vehicle. After further investigation, information was gathered and a report was taken.
