Fayrene Elizabeth Greathouse Easley, 87, of Brady, Texas, passed from this life into the next on Friday, December 4, 2020 in San Angelo, Texas. She was born in Dimmitt, Texas to Richard and Bertha Dowell Greathouse on January 24, 1933.
Fayrene attended all twelve years of school in Dimmitt, Texas. She continued her education at Wayland College in Plainview, Texas. There she was a member of The International Choir. On May 3rd, 1951 she was married to Leonard Eugene Easley, when he was sent to Vietnam as a pilot of a helicopter, warrant officer. Fayrene and sons Michael and Richard moved to Brady, Texas to be near her parents. When her husband was killed in Vietnam, she got her L.V.N. degree through Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital, where she was a nurse for twenty-two years. As a member of First Baptist Church, she was a choir member and taught junior and senior girls Sunday school class for forty-four years. Ms. Easley was a member of the Triple “S” and McDonalds Thursday morning breakfast group, and also a member of the hospital ladies auxiliary.
Fayrene is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leonard Easley, one sister, Morleen Arnold, and one brother Earl Greathouse.
Fayrene is survived by two sons, Mike, and Rick Easley and wife Tessa, three grandchildren, Lorien, Jennifer and Christie, several great grandchildren and step grandchildren, numerous loved nieces and nephews, and much-loved sister, Elouise Kirklen, and special “third son” Greg Ash.
Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, December 10, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Brady.
