Richland Springs vs. Strawn Friday Night in Dublin

The No. 5 Richland Springs Coyotes hope to punch their ticket for another trip to Arlington to defend their Class A Division II state 6-Man football championship.

They can get back to AT&T Stadium if they can beat Region IV champion Strawn Greyhounds in a game tonight (Friday) at 6:30 pm in Dublin.  Tickets will be available at the gate.

The two teams are certainly not strangers.  They have met in the playoffs six times with each team winning three times.  There are 13 state championships between the two schools in the last 20 years which is a statement of the tradition each school brings to the table.

Friday’s winner will face either No. 1 Balmorhea (10-1) or No. 2 Groom (12-1) in the Class A Division II state championship game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16.
