The Early Longhorns started their 2020-21 basketball season in dramatic fashion Monday afternoon, chalking up a 62-60 overtime victory over the Jim Ned Indians.

Early trailed 19-10 after one quarter, 27-24 at halftime and 42-32 after three periods. The Longhorns outscored Jim Ned 20-10 in the fourth period to force the extra session, where Early owned a 10-8 advantage on the scoreboard.

Vic Cooper paced Early with 19 points while Ethan Mitchell chipped in 18 points.

The Longhorns (1-0) will take the court again at noon Tuesday at Hawley.
