The Rescue Resale Thrift Store will hold their Grand Opening Thursday from 9 to 5 at 602 West Commerce in Brownwood, just west of the Stripes store.

Operated by volunteers, Donna Thomas is the Volunteer Manager who said proceeds will benefit the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center and their life saving mission for pets.

Thomas said tremendous strides have been made at the animal shelter over the past several months.

“They’ve lowered the number of animals that they have but they still have a great need in order to take care of the animals and staffing and just everyday operations providing food, etc. to the animals that are in need,” Thomas said.

Many individuals and businesses have stepped up with donations to get the thrift store operational.

“We have some nice furniture, we do have clothing, glassware and lots of antique items, lamps etc.  You name it, we’ve got it.  Come out and find it and get it,” Thomas said.

Rescue Resale will be open each Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
