Loving wife and mother, Anita Beth Maxwell, 65, of Brownwood, Texas, passed away on September 22, 2020, after a battle with kidney cancer.

Born August 23, 1955, in Rotan, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Garland and Mamie Miller.

She is also preceded in death by Jim’s parents, R.E. and Lola Maxwell and granddaughter, Jensyn Maxwell.

The love story of Anita Beth and Jimmy Wayne Maxwell is one for the ages.  They met at a church conference, and for him, it was love at first sight.  Anita soon fell for the tall, dark, and handsome pastor-in-training.  They spent the next 47 years laughing, travelling, ministering and building an unbreakable bond through their relationship with God.

Anita’s pride and joy were her three sons, Kevin (Adam) Maxwell of Van Alstyne, Texas; Keith (Tina) Maxwell of Weatherford, Texas; and Kreig (Amanda) Maxwell of Brownwood, Texas.  She taught them to love music, prepare a good meal, and have an unbreakable faith in their Lord and Savior.  Her favorite past-time was loving on her 6 grandchildren:  Bethany (Marcus), Reagan, Bradyn, Jordan, Caydence, and Landon.  She is also survived by 2 brothers, Weldon Miller and wife Ruth of Cleburne, TX, Bob Miller and wife Debbie of Midland, TX.

Anita dedicated her life to serving the Lord and others.  She loved leading her church family into the presence of God through praise and worship as a talented pianist and vocalist, most recently at Freedom Fellowship Church.  Her home, where everyone was welcomed with a smile and a big hug, was always filled with warmth and the aroma of the delicious food she prepared.  She loved unconditionally and wholeheartedly.  Everyone she met was an instant part of her family, and through her missions’ work was called “mom” all over the world including Uganda, the Philippines, and India. We will miss her giving heart and the warmth of her hugs, but are encouraged knowing that her heavenly Father now welcomes her into His arms.

We will celebrate her life on Monday, September 28, 2020, at 10 am at the Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, Texas for a graveside celebration of her life.

The viewing will be held Sunday, September 27 from 4 to 6 pm at Heartland Funeral Home.

To honor her dedication to serving the Lord, in lieu of flowers, we request donations be made to her church, Freedom Fellowship Church 1040 Early Blvd. Early, Texas 76802. Or text 325-221-0007 for additional information.
