The Brownwood Lady Lions volleyball team put a “W” on the score sheet Tuesday night rallying from a two-sets-to-one deficit to beat Glen Rose 26-28, 25-12, 22-25, 25-23, 15-8 at Warren Gym in the District 6-4A opener for both squads. The win was the first after a rough patch of four losses.
Katelyn Windham and Ashlyn Storm led the way for the Brownwood (7-5, 1-0) offense with 11 kills apiece followed by Tessa Goodwin and Kylie Morris with eight each, Jaylen Savage with seven, Olivia Fowler with six, and Gracie Boswell and Becca Church with one each.
Goodwin distributed 42 assists while Moody and Windham were each credited with one.
The Lady Lions served 29 aces led by Morris with eight, Moody, Goodwin, Fowler and Windham followed with three each and Boswell chipped in one.
Defensively, Moody logged 26 digs trailed by Goodwin with 21, Boswell with 18, Fowler with 14, Morris with 10, Church with eight, Windham with seven, and Storm, Savage, and Kassidy Wooten with four each.
At the net, Savage registered five blocks followed by Morris with three, Storm and Goodwin with two each and Windham and Fowler one apiece.
