Juanelle Carlisle, age 80, of Brownwood left her earthly home to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 19, 2020.
She was born July 15, 1940 in Brownwood the daughter of John Elijah and Flossie (Matheny) Gober. She had lived in Brownwood most of her life and was known to many for her hard work ethics. She was a caregiver to many and was known as the matriarch of the family. She enjoyed playing bingo, gaming, and listening to Elvis’ music. She especially loved her family and did anything for them.
She is survived by her two daughters, Joyce Lewis and husband Donald of Crowley, Nelda Peel and husband Leonard of Brownwood, her six sons, Jimmy Carlisle and wife Laura of Dripping Springs, James Steele of Brownwood, Richard Carlisle of Crowley, Ambers Steele of Brownwood, Amos Carlisle of Brownwood, and Wesley Carlisle and wife Sarah of May. She is also survived by twenty four grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and thirteen great great grandchildren, three brothers, John (Jack) Gober and wife Jeanine of San Antonio, Gary Gober and wife Cheryl of Ingram, and Clayton Gober and wife Gloria of Kerrville, a sister, Linda Hefner and husband Tom of San Antonio and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-parents, her husband, two brothers, John Wayne Gober and Melvin Qualls, two sisters, Leona Reynolds and Teresa Gober, two sons, Gerald Wayne Steele and Randy Carlisle and a grandson, Sean Carlisle.
Services will be held at Wednesday, September 23, at 10:30 am in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Brian Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
