Early and Brownwood Fire Departments responded to Chick-fil-A in Heartland Mall at about 1:15 pm Friday afternoon.
According to Chick-fil-A Team Manager Maritza Morin, “The fire started in the back hallway. It was one of our lights that just got too hot and caught on fire. There’s some minor damage but we should be up and running either later tonight or tomorrow.”
Employees and customers of Chick-fil-A were evacuated as firefighters conducted an investigation. There were no reported injuries.
“Everybody got out really safe,” Morin said. “We noticed it pretty fast and got it handled. We got the fire out before the firefighters came but just for extra precautions we’re shutting down for now.”
