The Texas Department of Public Safety has released a preliminary report on a fatal accident that happened at 1:45 am Sunday, July 19, 3.2 miles east of Novice on U.S. Highway 84 in Coleman County.

According to the DPS report, Rowdy Roy Escobar, 24 of Coleman, was driving a 2019 Suzuki motorcycle north on US 84 when he struck a cow in the roadway. Escobar was pronounced dead at the scene.  The crash is under investigation.
