KOXE News- The Brownwood Fire department responded to a car fire at the Dollar General at 2000 Hwy 377 S in Brownwood around 5pm on Wednesday. According to Fire Marshall Buddy Preston, the driver and passengers of the car began smelling smoke while driving and pulled into the parking lot of the Dollar General. All of the passengers of the car (including young children) were able to exit the vehicle before the hood of the car caught on fire. The fire department arrived at the scene fairly fast to put out the fire but not before the vehicle was destroyed. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is not yet known and remains under investigation.
