A home in Bangs was destroyed by fire in the early morning hours of Monday, October 14.
Bangs, Brownwood and Lake Brownwood Bridge Fire Departments responded to a fire at 2:56 am Monday on Sullivan Street on the south outskirts of town.
According to Brownwood Fire Marshal, Buddy Preston, the call came in as a grass fire but fire units arrived to find a house involved with only two walls left standing, walls that eventually fell. There was no one at home at the time as the family who lives there left Friday on vacation, Preston said. They have been notified and were in route back to Bangs as of early Monday morning, he said. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is in the early stages of investigation, Preston said.
