A man from Dalhart, Texas died at the scene of a two vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon in Coleman County.

Coleman County Sheriff’s Department, Coleman Fire Department, Glen Cove Fire Department, MetroCare EMS and DPS responded to the accident shortly after 1 o’clock Wednesday.   The accident was about 8 miles west of Coleman on Highway 153,  just west of Hords Creek Lake.

According to officials at the scene, a sedan and a large SUV collided on a hill.  The car driven by the man killed was overturned in the north ditch while the other vehicle stayed upright.  A woman and her young son were in the SUV and did not require transport to the hospital.

The name of the victim has not been released by the Department of Public safety.  The accident is under investigation.
