A high-speed chase, with speeds reaching more than 100 mph, ended when the driver crashed in the parking lot of Aaron’s in Early.
According to Coleman County Sheriff, Les Cogdill, the chase started in Winters in Runnels County. The driver and two passengers fled on Highway 153 into Coleman County, passing through Coleman and Santa Anna on Highway 67. The chase continued through Bangs, into Brownwood and finally into Early where the driver lost control and crashed in the Aaron’s parking lot, narrowly missing the building. The car was heavily damaged after colliding with a light pole and delivery truck in the parking lot. The car had a New Mexico license plate.

The accident scene is being investigated by the Early Police Department. Charges are expected to be filed by Runnels, Coleman and Brown county authorities.
