The air conditioning unit at the Brownwood Coliseum just underwent its third repair in the last five years, operational just in time for several major events at the facility. The 26 year-old A/C Chiller is only operating at 80 percent of potential capacity, according to Tim Murray with the City of Brownwood.
The city reached out to four HVAC Engineering Consultants to assess the Coliseum A/C situation. Two firms responded. The City Council approved on a 5-0 vote hiring DVO Engineering of Houston to study the current HVAC system and provide recommendations for a replacement system.
The study will cost $5,000. The other bid was $6,100 from SAT Mechanical Engineering.
