That smell of smoke may very well be coming from the 60 cookers who have entered the Star Fest Cookoff this weekend at Riverside Park in Brownwood.
Sponsored by Bangs Masonic Lodge and Santa Anna Eastern Star, and sanctioned by the Lone Star Barbecue Society, this Texas State Championship BBQ Cookoff has divisions for chicken, brisket, pork spare ribs and beans.
The Best Brisket in Brown County Award will also be given. A kids fishing tournament is also going on.
