George D. Wheatley of Santa Anna, Texas at the age of 94 years passed from this life on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kathy Monroe officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Anna Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home.

He was born George Daniel Wheatley on January 20, 1924 in Shields, Texas to Daniel Price and Mary Elizabeth Stewardson Wheatley. He was a lifetime resident of Santa Anna and graduated from Santa Anna High School in 1943. On August 5, 1950 George married the love of his life Billie Joy McFarlin in Whon, Texas and they celebrated 68 years of marriage. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II at the Battle of Okinawa serving in Japan at the end of the war.

George was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the DAV and VFW and was a farmer and rancher.
