Woman arrested after pipe tests positive for meth

A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop for a defective brake light early this morning. During a consent search, a glass pipe was found in the glove box of the vehicle. The residue tested positive for methamphetamine. Joanna McCarty was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

A deputy was dispatched to a call regarding a reckless driver. An Early Police Officer subsequently conducted a traffic stop on that same vehicle in the 3800 block of Hwy 183 N in Early. The deputy observed the driver, identified as Zachariah Almo Childers, being unsteady and had slurred speech. After performing standardized field sobriety tests, Childers was arrested for driving while intoxicated

 In other incidents:

•A man claimed someone had been using his address fraudulently in order to mail fake checks.

•A woman reported her purse was stolen while at work.

•An employee at Kohler reported having a cell phone stolen.
