Speeding leads to drug arrest

The following is a log of calls responded to by the Early Police Department last week:

11/08 – Accident – North Highwway 183 – agency assist with Brownwood PD – 2 accident same location

Fire Call – CR 616 Care Nursing -smoke showing – officers responded to assist in case of evacuation. Fire Dept located smoke source in the A/C unit. Everything ok.

Civil Matter – 1000 Blk Early Blvd – everything ok – options provided.

Agency assist – Accident – Hwy 279 edge of town.

Unwanted person – subject hanging around store after being told to leave – subject told to leave by officer. Subject left.

11/09 – Motorist Assist – 1000 Blk Early Blvd. – driver of vehicle broken down was wanted for outstanding warrants. Daniel Perez was arrested on warrant for possession of marijuana from Ector County. Perez was taken to Brown County Jail.

Traffic direction for electric company. Early Blvd and Sudderth drive.

Motorist assist – Garmon Drive and Meadow Glen

Medical emergency – 1500 blk Early Blvd – vehicle rolled over mans leg. Lifeguard transported.

Traffic Stop – 1000 Blk Early Blvd – Officer Smoot stopped a vehicle for traffic violation of speeding. Officer Smoot detected extreme nervousness in all 3 occupants of the vehicle. At one point the female Virginia Greene began being uncooperative and failed to obey lawful orders from the officers and began reaching under the seat when told not to do so. The female was removed from the vehicle in fear that she may be grabbing for a weapon. Greene was secured outside the vehicle. Early Police Department K9 unit Jambo was called to the location. Jambo alerted on the vehicle at which time the vehicle was searched. A small amount of methamphetamines was located along with drug paraphernalia. All 3 occupants were placed under arrest and taken to the Brown County jail. Once at the jail during a search jail staff located more methamphetamines on the female under her clothing. Steve Darnell, Jamith Fraser and Virginia Greene were all booking into Brown county Jail for possession of controlled substance. Greene was also charged with interfere with public duties.

Domestic Disturbance – 100 Block Williams Drive – caller reported that her son had attacked his sister and hit her and strangled her. During the assault the mother attempted to stop the fight when the suspect turned on the mom assaulting her and strangling her around the neck. The suspect then broke several windows in the home before officers arrived. 15 year old male was taken into custody for 2 charges of assault family violence-Impede breathing and 1 charge criminal mischief.

Accident – CC Woodson/Early Blvd.

11/10 – Theft – 600 blk Longhorn – no report.

Civil matter – Walk-in – options provided.

Domestic disturbance – 600 Blk Early Blvd – caller reported male hit her and pushed her into wall causing injury – male subject, Juan Vizcarra arrested for assault family violence and taken to Brown County Jail.

11/11 – Reckelss Driver – 900 blk Early Blvd – driver not impaired, just not paying attention – warning

Burglary – 500 blk Garmon, storage building burglary.

Motorist assist – 600 blk Early Blvd – Officer provided directions to motorist.

Juvenile problem – High School. Caller stated they were there to pick up their child. Child refused to get in vehicle. Options provided to parent
Terroristic Threat – caller stated daughter heard rumor of threat to another person. Investigation lead to suspect. No charges filed

Suspicious vehicle – 500 Blk Garmon – vehicle parked behind business. Vehicle secure, business secure. No report.

Alarm – 1000 Blk Early Blvd – cleaning crew in building

11/12 – Community relations – 400 Blk Monte Vista – Officer assisted resident.

Welfare Check – 800 blk Scarlet – everything checked ok.

 

11/13 – Roadway hazard – Early Blvd – removed deer from roadway.

Civil Standby – 1000 blk Early Blvd – subject requested civil standby at business – civil standby not provided, dept policy does not allow extended stand by and at a business.

Traffic stop – 200 Blk Early Blvd. – Brownwood PD received a call from Parole Office of subject with blue warrant. Subject left parole office before BPD arrived. Subject was spotted on Early Blvd. James Reynolds was placed in custody for parole violation and taken to the Brown County Jail.
